I have a asp.net file upload control

Question

when user selects 1250 files firefox allows to select but IE and Chrome do not. Even these 2 do not show any error message also. Any suggestion much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Developer toolbar to debug the script in IE? Same tool bar available in Chrome too. As you told you are using JS there may be the chance to popup JS error which prevents the rest of the functionality. So try to debug the JS using developer tool bar in IE and Chrome. Hope this helps!

yes  I am providing a feature to upload 1500 files. It is working fine in FF but in IE and Chrome after selecting/browsing the files these are not shown in fileupload control. In fact the javascript used to count the files selected is not showing anything. No error message even.

I'm little confused about your requirement. Are you going to upload 1230 or more files at one click in every browser? If this is your requirement just try to change a bit.

Francis The problem is that user cannot select files beyond 1230 in IE and Chrome. These two are most commonly used browsers. So need to identify why this is happening with these two browsers only while FF allows selecting the files.
