But in asp.net webform. He will feel everything new. [/quote] I'm not sure how drag-and-drop fits in PHP. What do you drag-and-drop in PHP? The only thing you need to create a php webpage is an ordinary text-editor (in the windows world, you can use edit or notepad for it). I've coded all my PHP stuff in vi on the linux command line; no drag-and-drop what-so-ever. I admit, I now drag controls onto the markup of a webform; you straight away see the code and can adjust to your needs. Not sure what MVC offers there.

PHP is scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. In PHP they used to do maximum task in scripting way syntax. They used to implement so much javascript and Jquery Libray. If somebody has good knowledge on Javascript and Jquery then it will be really helpful to learn to Asp.net MVC. In MVC also there will be huge implementation of javascript framework like Jquery and Angular etc. If you will create new project in asp.net mvc it is will give default in Model view controller architecture. So he has to learn little bit how model, View and Controller work. In php also there will not be drag drop control concept so he will feel so much similarity with MVC. But in asp.net webform. He will feel everything new. Please let me know your concern.

At this stage I absolutely don't agree Maybe it's the way how I wrote PHP web pages, but to my knowledge PHP does not know about a tiered approach; you have to implement that yourself. PHP is just a language like C#.

Hi If you are coming from PHP background then you will feel more comfortable with asp.net mvc. But you have to also learn C#,Sqlserver,Entity Framework.

No problem but be prepared for a culture shock and possibly quite a long learning curve. The whole approach is different in asp.net and you need to learn C# or VB. It might be easier to start with webforms instead of MVC. If you are like me, and like to work from scratch, webforms is definitely the better choice. But that's your call; switching from webforms to MVC might be a problem, I' have tried and not managed (yet). What I battle with is all the pre-chewed solutions; the out of the box solution does not always give the flexibility that you need for the same thing, there might be a number of different options (see e.g http://stackoverflow.com/questions/139207/repeater-listview-datalist-datagrid-gridview-which-to-choose for the options to display data in a table)
