I need a Suggestion from you WPF/Form Developers
Boy I hope this is the right place for this question...
Hello, I have been trying to make a decision about what direction I want to go with my future Window programming ventures.
A little about me:
I have extensive knowledge of programming practices and concepts and have written several complex and successful programs back in the days of Shareware... but unfortionately they have been in the DOS environment using Pascal. I have been out of the programming loop for many years and would like to come back to programming again... I know, a lot has changed since my DOS days.
The apps I've developed in the past were very complex, so I am familiar and comfortable with complex concepts.
I should also note that I know very little about writing for the Windows Environment, but want to develop my future software in this area and am eager to learn.
I am using Visual Studio V8 pro and might upgrade to V10. I know C, C++ and have ventured into C#, .Net and have a decent understanding of C# programming language.
I've been messing around in the Window Form environment and feel comfortable with Visual Forms. I haven't written a full fledged Forms application because I would really like to move over to WPF instead and not waste any time.
Here is what I am going to develop...
I want to develop a Window Application(s) that will be Database dependant. Here is my dilemma... Since my future applications will be Database intensive I am wondering if I should stay with Forms or just forego Forms and jump head long into WPF.
What would you veterans suggest for someone like myself... I don't mind a steep learning curve and do not fear the climb.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Dennis
