I set Application user (pass through authentication)

Question

I set Application user (pass through authentication) in IIS , so i run application , I get this message (Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials) , how can i run my application with set Application user (pass through authentication) in iis

Unfortunately I didn't quite understand what you described. However just tell me one thing are you expecting that one set of users will use windows authentication and another set of users will use forms authentication? If the answer to above question is Yes let me tell you that this is not possible.

Let me clarify my actual problem. I have developed an application that will run on Intranet. It has two panels User and Admin. The User panel has two pages one page reads data from database however second page use currently logged in Windows user and retrieve details from Active Directory. and the user can also change some fields and save to AD directly. The Admin Panel is used to read user details from Active Directory and stores in database that are display on first page of User panel. In web.config file I have used impersonation t o interact with Active Directory. Authentication mode is defined as Forms since the Admin panel requires loging (using AD credentials). true userName= ***** password= ***** /> Forms > .ADAuthCookie loginUrl= ***** timeout= ** slidingExpiration= false protection= All /> When deplying on IIS I have used  Application user (pass through authentication)  in Basic Settings because if i define any specific user then it showed the details of that user on second page in User panel. But now it is asking for username and password i do not want the application to ask for username and password it should automatically use the currently logged-in windows credentials. Let me know if there is any additional detail that might help understand my problem. Regards

When you do that an entire IIS worker process runs under the context of the user in which IIS is running which would typically be MachineName_IUSR. If you are accessing db with windows authentication you will need to give this user access to db.
