Use this query string _sql=Select Count(*) From TableName; and collect the no of rows in integer variable like int _row=(int)sqlcmd.ExecuteScalar();

hi create a query or store procedure use aggregate function count(fieldname) then use executesclare method of Sqlcommand object and show it as a integre value.
