Hi.. Java is used everywhere... As far as my knowledge goes .NET Applications have more scope than Java or PHP. Till date Facebook is the social networking site designed and running on PHP but still with a lot many bugs in it. In .NET there are webservices parallel and serial programming LINQ WPF WCF Silverlight (HTML 5 now more in use) SharePoint Mobile applications IPad Applications etc. and so on..
