i want to show error message in vb.net when i did' t fill the necessary fields?

i m working in windows application for vb.net...

i have 4 fields in my application..if i did't fill any data in that 4 fields i want to show error like ..please enter necessary fields..i dono how to check whether the field is filled or empty..

If you are using textbox use if TextBox1.Text.Trim = String.Empty Then 'or TextBox1.Text.Trim = your code.. end if errorprovider is also there.. you can use it

what do you mean by fields? are you referring to database field? or just plain variables? Are you using textboxes for input?
