Identify sound

Question

Hello am making an app that can identify a sound within a song am capturing streaming music from the internet but i would like to identify a specific sound within a song. i didnt know where to put this topic so i put it here.

my english is not perfect but here it goes. ok no one answered my previews post but i found the way to do what i was asking. i'll write the step i had to take to do it 1) parse the file to get data values but what i get from this is the description of the signal in PCM so i need the spectrom to analise the signal so 2) FFT to the array of data i found out there is a standard and sound frames occur 1/100nseconds or so 3) make a template of the sound am looking for 4) compare each frame im not sure if this is the best way and if i try to display the data in a control i need to use a dinamic buffer for the sound and double buffer the graphic all that and most of the code runs on a worker thread  i can only compare the template to whats on the sound buffer otherwise performance is very bad. right know im trying to apply some statistical analisys to get a percetage of accuracy. I know there are liberies for speech recognition but am making a radio broadcast monitor to find specific songs on the radio. I know i can make this with DSP and FPGA but i want to test this idea in software first.
