Hi, If you have only one condition to check, then you can go with if else statement if(name="myname") { //some code } else { //some code } If you have a series of statements to check and only one among them will be true, then you can go with else if statement. The switch case statement evaluates the value of an expression and a block of code is selected on the basis of that evaluated expression. Here is what you can do. Actually you can use alternatively but going with if else requires compiler to do some extra work in case you have complex logic in conditions. Alternatively because, you can do something as if - else if- else if - else or Case1 - case 2 - case 3 - default. if (condition or conditions) { //code } else // if conditions are not true execute below code. { //code } When you go for Switch case statements it expects you to pass constants for evaluating the block code to execute. Hi, The basic difference between switch case and else if ladder is that the switch case statement tests the value of variable or expression against a series of different cases or values, until a match is found. Then, the block of code with in the match case is executed. If there are no matches found, the optional default case is executed. There is one more scenario to note here. When the condition you want to check is different ever time, then you have no choice other than if else if ... and contrary to this when the condition is around checking value of a single variable you can opt for swich case.
