imports keyword

i am having trouble with the imports keyword i started an asp.net application and want to reference system.drawing.text i tried placing imports system.drawing.text but the program tells me that the imports word is a syntax error what can be wrong

make sure you have VB.NET as the code behind for your application. the imports keyword is not valid in C# (use using instead)
