One thing which is important and necessary in ASP.NET or any other .NET platform is events. An event is just a special kind of multi-cast delegate where the only operations allowed outside the class in which the event is defined are += and -=. These special operators add a method to or remove a method from the invocation list of the underlying delegate. This means that subscribers to the event (i.e. the methods in the invocation list) can't interfere with each other because they have no way of knowing what other subscribers the event currently has.
