Indian Financial year wise Database Design

Guys

I am Software Developer and I have one query in Database Design in Sql Server for Financial year wise manage

I have solution that put one 'finanaciayear' field in which tables has data by financial year and Insert,Update,Delete,Select Data by 'financialyear' field so its ok?

Any proper solution you have then help me for better design and implementation.

You Can create seperate tables for each financial year rather than creating sperate database . Creating seperate database i think is not a feasible idea . Whereas creating seprate table will able to fetch results properly also there will be data integrity maintained.

What is the volume of data? is probably the most important question to answer. Now think about this: 1 Create a separate database for each financial year. 2 Create one master database with a common data which is not for any (or for all) financial years for example customers etc. 3 Also keep one table which will have a list of all financial years list in it. For example 2015-16 2016-17 etc. 4 In each financial year database create synonyms for these master tables so each database will feel that it has these master tables. 5 When application starts show list of financial years from table mentioned in point 3 above. 6 Then dynamically connect to that db and work. This way you don't ever have to worry about scalability. Also remember that when new db is created sql server makes the copy of model db. So you can keep all your financial year db objects in this db.
