insert an object into a list ?

Hi How can i add new Object to my objektlist ? and show how many entries i have in the list ? MyCLass[] myobjlist; MyClass mc=new MyClass(); mc would insert into myobjlist !

If you don't know now many elements your list has and you want it to grow dynamically as you add elements you would be better off using the ArrayList. ArrayList list = new ArrayList(); // instantiate the array list MyClass mc = new MyClass(); // instantiate your class list.Add(mc); // This will all your new object to the end of the list int position = 2; // say you want to insert in the second position list.Insert(position mc); // your new object will be inserted the appropriate positi

ohh... forgot the size... int size = myobjlist.Length -> In the case above size = 10. Cheers Simon

Hi There are some steps to do. a.) Declare array (you called it list... ). b.) Instantiate array here you have to specify the size (length) of the array. c.) Insert objects into the array. eg. MyClass[] myobjlist; // declaration.. myobjlist = new MyClass[10] // create an array of 10 places indices 0...9 MyClass mc = new MyClass(); // create MyClass instance. myobjlist[5] = mc; // insert MyClass object mc to the place with index 5. or easier: MyClass[] myobjlist = new MyClass[10]; myobjlist[5] = new MyClass(); Cheers Simon
