oops!!! I just tried now by putting the tag  . Intellisense seems to be working now.

It has been mentioned like that. But dont know why its not coming by default. There should be a reference path added to the vsdoc file. That file is responsible for the intellisense.

Does by default VS 2010 supports jQuery intelli-sense?

Do you have the Jquery files in script folder ? if that so have you pointed that location in your page. If its present over there surely Intellisense will work.
