Interested select query in sql server 2005

Question

I create Logintbl in sql server 2005 . All records inside logintbl are in small letter. When I select record from logintbl by writing following query

select l_name from logintbl where l_pass='ABC'

then I get the login name . Same result is displayed when I write the query by following way

select l_name from logintbl where l_pass='abc'

I required that records must be find only by small letters not by capital letters in sql server 2005 . Please help me in this regard.

hi kishor you also use collation type with your select query. try following queries... both have different result. select l_name from logintbl where l_pass collate Latin1_General_CS_AS ='ABC' select l_name from logintbl where l_pass collate Latin1_General_CS_AS ='abc' hope this will help you.

ALTER DATABASE database_name COLLATE collation_name
