Is it better to use an external source for a LightSwitch application?

Is there a benefit in using an external data source when developing a LightSwitch application? After I complete my LightSwitch app I am going to build an ASP.net web site to collect the data from the apps database.

What do you mean by External data source? Did you mean database hosted somewhere else? If your application is the one that is going to manage and store all data I don't see any reason why you would want to use an external data source.
