Although there are too many 'gotos' for my liking this tutorial shows how you can connect to SQL Server using ODBC from unmanaged C++: http://www.tidytutorials.com/2009/08/connecting-to-sql-server-using-c-odbc.html For managed C++  although there doesn't appear to be any examples in the MSDN docs you can in fact use ADO.NET and the .NET Framework data provider for SQL Server in exactly the same way as you would from C#. So if you don't have one already I'd google for a suitable C# example and then change the syntax to C++/CLI. I can help if you have any problems with the translation.
