Hi Please check below fiddle - http://jsfiddle.net/4BwGG/3/ In this when you click on the table heading you get the contents of that particular column as a alert. Try to implement this in your page. Not sure whether it supports in IE browser.

Hi Raghav thanks for quick reply . I need to select a single column of account numbers in the grid so that I can quickly copy a subset of accounts for paste into the notepad or an email.please give me your suggestions. i am new to jquery please help me
