Item template Button in a grid view

Question

Dear all I got a gridview with item templates autogenerating columns false.the first item template is an upload button.when i click on the button some action on corresponding table in the second column should be taken.i got some 20 rows in that gridview.If clicking on the button only corresponding table should be updated.how to identify the button ID and where to write the code for button click?..
