Item Template Length in Gridview

i want to show only the first 20 characters in an item template ..how to set maximum length??

I found a solution 10? Eval(Remarks).ToString().Substring(010)+ character to show that text is remaining :Eval(Remarks).ToString()%>

Hi. There is no such maxlength property exist for ItemTemplate. MaxLength property only exist in Textboxes. But still if you want to restrict upto 20 characters then you can do like this #Eval(Comments).ToString().Substring(0 20) %> Thanks.
