javascript for submit form without using submit button

hi I want javascript for submit form without using submit button when enter value in textbox automatically without pressing any submit button and any enter key i want to get output.

Saritha this is last what i can do I've tested it worked for me. I'll explain you what I did was I took an updatepanel on my page and one TextBox and Label control inside it. I've fired onKeyUp event of javascript on my TextBox and also Server side Event TextChanged on the TextBox. and in javascript function which is called on onKeyUp event I'm checking whether the TextBox length is 10 or not if it is 10 then I'm firing the TextBox TextChanged event from within the javascript function which will set the Label Control Text to Hello World. I've also added the output images for you. Saritha kindly mark the ans as accepted which has helped you. and also for your scriptmanager and update panel query it used when we want asynchoronous communication between the server and the client. i.e. I dont want a full post back for updating a region on my page. Like in the example which i provided you the label controls text property is set with out any postback. i.e only a specific region of the page is begin got refreshed.

Actually that's the way it has to be because for every key pressed if you keep hitting your DB it wont be any useful thing for you and it is not going to serve any purpose to you because until and unless the user types every letter within the hall ticket he is not going to get any records. And also if the key is to large let say 10 letters then for every key pressed my dB would hitted 10 times to fetch one record which is not a good solution. The Better approach to solve this problem would be like the following 1. you are providing a dropdownlist to the user and allowing him to select the hall ticket or But if the hall ticket is a security issue then the following would be the better approach 2. providing him with a textbox and one submit button on whose click you will hit the DB and fetch the respective records. Hope it helps you.

Yes...i already tried that one....but the problem is once i entered hallticket numberthen i will press enter key then only it will display...buthere i don't want to press any keys...

Are Saritha you don't need any javascript code for that all what you need to do is set the AutoPostBack property of the Textbox to true and fire the TextChanged event of the TextBox and write your DB accessing code in the TextChanged Event.

You can simply call that function by using the following code snippet in your cs file within your function where you are filling the textboxes automatically If your are using ScriptManager on your page the way of calling would be like the following. ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(thisthis.GetType()insert Submit()true); else if there is no script Manager present on the page then you can call like the following ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType()insertSubmit()true); Hope it solves your proble.
