Keep Text Files

Question

Hey Guys I have published a C# app which includes text files that stores customer information orders etc.. but everytime I made changes to the app and publish it again or re-install it it overwrites the text files and I lose my records?? how can I prevent that from happening? Thank you in advance.

It is a C# winows form applicattion and I'm using visual studio 2010

hi I think publish and deploy is manual process so that you must be take care it when you deploy your web application. are you using any tool to generate setup? if yes than you may check whether the text file exist than skip to copying this files. hope this will help you.
