Linq to sql.. how to retrive the name field from table using linq

Hi friends..

iam using data mappping technics to show data for my e-commerce application

i need  to perform linq query to retrive the category name from main category table using data context object!

how to achieve that easily.. i need only category name to be displayed using a datalist at the left menu of my application..
