List View index

Question

Hello I'm having trouble trying to get the index value of a listview item to another form Would anyone know how to get this value? Thanks

Ok For starters, the "int selecteIdx = myForm.SelectedIndex;" go into the first or second form and when does it execute? i.e.: does it execute in the listview.SelectIndexChange event. Also, I have an image list linked to the list view, how can I get the exact value of the index from the image list?

when u call your second form you would do something like this right... frmSecondForm myForm = new frmSecondForm(); myForm.ShowDialog(); after u display your second form u want to check its SelectedIndex value int selecteIdx = myForm.SelectedIndex; (that will retrieve the value) and IN your second form, every time you select a different item u have to update the m_selectedIndex variable (this can be done using the SelectedIndexChange event in the listview

you can store the index in a 1. global variable, 2. make a property in the other form that will be an int value and u can store it right in that property/variable.
