Longhorn is the future?

Hi Please can you asnwer my questions? 1- When Microsoft will release the final Longhorn Product? 2- Is the name 'Longhorn' will be the name of the final product? 3- After longhorn what will happen to .NET? and C#? Thanks Salwa

little more elaboration on what Mahesh said. 1. yes thats the rumour that it will be shipped in 2005 2. usually microsoft gives code names to their OS's like windows XP was called whistler so the name will definately change. 3. .NET 2.0 is integrated right into the OS all API calls can be made with .NET calls which are directly above the raw API's for more info on C# 2.0 here is microsofts specifications. http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/1/6/81682478-4018-48fe-9e5e-f87a44af3db9/SpecificationVer2.doc

1. I belive MS is planning to release in Q1 2005 2. Name may change. Its too early to say. 3. C# and .NET will still be there. Both are integral parts of Longhorn and Longhorn development.
