Making own timer like the system clock using battery

Is there a way to do that? If so, are there any classes that can make it pretty easy to do and what are they?

I guess I will scratch that idea. What about a way to password protect the windows clock so that not just anyone can edit the date and time?

I think you really need to clarify your question. What is it you want to do? Do you want to develope a completely different piece of hardware and interface it to the parallel or serial port? In that case, this probably goes beyond the discussion of C#. What other system clock are you referring too? You would need to have some sort of embedded system that triggers an interrupt on your computer and acts like a clock. As far as I know, there is only one system clock accessible through windows, unless you create a new custom piece of hardware. My guess is in the .NET world, you would register this new piece of hardware (custom system clock) with WMI somehow. -Mike

Not everyone has constant internet service and I don't think you read my post carefully enouph. I would like to know if I can make my own system clock that would always run like the normal system clock does. Can that be done and how?

If you are worried about a user changing the time - read it from the internet. Creating "your own clock" will not work - what if the time is changed while your program is not running? Yuor program would never know Bill F

Maybe I need to clarify that: With my program I use the system time and date but it would create problems if I do that because the user can edit it. But if I made my own separate clock then the program would not get messed up. It would also be beneficial to read from the (binary clock from the internet?). But that it not of most importance.
