So you mean that Team System and TFS are the same And If that so can you please tell me where are the option for working in team environment. Currently we were handling the project as one for one but now I am really stuck here because there is an big project I have to complete and its impossible to handle by one. Please tell me how can I create team environment in Visual Studio 2008 Team System.

Team System uses TFS (Team Foundation Server) as source control so with TFS installed you can use Team System. I'm using that at work and it is good.

You can use any source control management software as recommended by other members including Visual Source Safe PureCM SubVersion Apache and Visual Studio 2010 Team Foundation. Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation can do this too. Using these softwares you build a team of developers who share the same project and when team member works on a file (checkout) it is not available to others until he is done working (check in file). Then there is this traditional way of working where a project is broken down into smaller indepently developable modules and each member develops and once they are ready one member (leader) integrates various modules together in the main project.

Hi Thanks for Your Reply. I want to know that how can I organize the work and divided the whole task between the others. Me and my friend's had tried on working on the same project same time but after adding some code we save the form or class in which we were working Visual Studio ask for reloading the whole project even if we were working on different files in the same project. I am not familiar with source control software is Visual Studio.Net the thing you are talking about or anything else. Please guide me Regards

Do you mean how they edit same set of files or how they organize their work? First thing is done using source control software. Second thing is done by applying different project management strategies. Source control allows people to lock (checkout) edit and then unlock (checkin) source code files in the central source code repository. In that way it is assured that one file will be modified by one person at the moment. Any concurrent edit is detected and changes merged automatically or manually so that code in repository is consistent at all times. Concept of source control often goes together with automated build conducted on a regular basis (e.g. daily build). That forces coders to checkin code without syntax errors while each coder is responsible to perform basic testing of own code. Further on central code base allows centralised testing and quality assurrance performed by specifically assigned team or person. Later on upon release build is created deployment team is responsible to deploy software to destination computers.
