MCTS - C# -Windows development - Exam 70-536

Hi all I have 4 months of experience in C# windows development. i wish to go for MCTS(Microsoft certified technology specialist) certification in C# windows development. please send me the links resources and how to prepare for the test. Its actually not too bad I study for a half hour to an hour each night (except Saturdays and Sundays I do take time off :P ) and Im already half way through the first book in a two week time frame. Thats after doing all of the examples taking the little 3 - 5 question less reviews and reading every page. I actually wanna learn something through this not just get my cert : ) I recommend them definitely. Im into Data Sources in a Connected Environment now using SQL Server 2005. Fun!

Im going to blow the dust off of this one and put in my two sense as well :) I am currently studying for my MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer) certification and in order to get that I first need to get my MCTS certification. I am studying the Windows Development portion of the MCTS certification and I agree with Louis Kenney in his post that the Self Paced training kits are the best (USD $172.21 for the MCPD kit). But as he also said the kit comes at a fairly heavy price. But its totally worth it if your serious about getting the certifications. The kit I got for my MCPD in Windows Development came with 3 books and two CD's. The three books cover Windows Forms and Controls and the .NET Framework infrastructure which are the two necessary to the MCTS and the last one I think covers both topics more indepth for the MCPD I havent gotten that far yet. Ive been with C# for about a year now and I still am finding alot of new and useful little tricks and tools by using practicing reading and doing the lessons in the books. The two CD's contain a trial version of Visual Studio 2005 and practice tests for the accompanying books. In my mind the kit is well worth the money if your serious about getting certified.

hi frank if you thinking for the preparation of hte MCTS certification then you should find and download the exam sims or the practise papers available on net. i could have told you where you can find those things but first be email or replying here on this portal you tell me that you are really interested in that. cheers smartkhilit

I realise that you have probably already done the exam but for any one else that's asking the same question... The recommended book for the 070-536 exam is nearly useless. It gives a good scope of the core C# language but it misses out on lots of the sections in the exam. e.g. Security and Graphics. The chapters on the CLR and the debugging are also not part of the exam. The best books seem to be the Self-paced training kits. They cover every subject in the exam (even if it's a one liner) however they come at a hefty price.

Did you pass the exam? I have only learned C# for just one month and I am going to take the exam next week because I really want to find a C# job SOON. I am really nervous about it now.
