MFC application

Question

Hi, What is MFC application..? Does it is used with .NET platform.? Thank you....

MFC does not use .Net. MFC was first designed by Microsoft before C++ was a standard. There are essentially three types of MFC applications; dialog-based, GUI and console. Early versions of MFC were not easily used in console programs. Dialog-based MFC applications used dialogs; the ones that the Windows API provides. MFC (yes, MFC; I am not refering to MFC applications here) is developed using C++ and can only be used by unmanaged C++ code. Except for dialog-based and console applications, the applications created by Visual Studio when it generates source code for a new project uses a Document/View Architecture, which means that the generated code automatically has a lot of logic for handling data (the document) and windows (the view) built into it. Unfortunately the Document/View Architecture is inflexible and I don't see an equivalent for managed applicaitons. The equivalent can be created using .Net, I just don't see an equivalent provided as a part of VS. If that does not help, then please clarify what you need an explanation of.
