The default setting for min server memory is 0 and the default setting for max server memory is 2147483647 MB. By default SQL Server can change its memory requirements dynamically based on available system resources. It is advisable to leave the default values instead of specifying them. It will not hurt unless if the database needs to accommodate huge amount of data that needs whole system memory space. Otherwise if your computer is 32 bit then allocate more than 64 MB and it is 64 bit then more than 128. But if memory is full then you will get exceptions as SQL Server instance cannot dynamically change its memory even you system has more memory. Hope this answers your question.
