Question

Hello frnz i hv a problem on windows 7 vth the vs2005. I hv to develop mobile web apps fr my practice and fr this i hv to use AtiveSync vch used only fr XP nt win 7. Bt there is a tool provided by a Microsoft called Mobile Device Centre bt i cudnt use it properly so plz if any1 hv face this problem and hv a solution plz tell me hw cn i get rid off frm this.....

Hi Amar ActiveSync was the software that was used earlier to connect between the Pc and the device emulator. But in later versions of Windows (such as Vista and 7) you will need Mobile Device Center to connect between the Pc and the device emulator. Basic function of both these two tools are the same. The appearance and working is slightly different. Why do you want to stick only to ActiveSync? thanks for your support guys so after all i overcome on this problem with the Update device emulator version just download it on given link below and install it and u will not face this problem......You need to download the version 2.0 of device emulator to cradle the pockect pc with WMDC. Sure Suthish I had no intentions of keeping it secret or some such thing. He seems to be having specific issues which may not be applicable to all so I sent some suggestions via email. Anyway here's what I wrote: You are stuck at the cradling stage that's why WMDC is not connecting. So you need to troubleshoot your pocketpc emulator network connectivity. Are you using a company firewall? Are any ports being blocked? Are you setting right connectivity configuration on your pocketpc? First solve all these issues then WMDc will work. His reply was that he's using antivirus firewall not a company firewall so now he's disabling that and we are working towards solving the other issues. Could be a port problem as well. -Mamta

Amar you need to perhaps check your connection settings on the pocket pc emulator. I am sure that's where the issue is occuring that's why the cradling is not successful. -Mamta

As u say Mamta m using the WMDC bt there is a problem to connect it with the Device Emulator Manager when m trying to connect it with the Pocket PC 2003 SE EMULATOR and cradle it it doesn't show any connection in virtual mobile so thats the issue with me ACtiveSync doesn't install on Win 7...........Hope u can understand it now.....Thanx

actually i have to use the activesync on win 7 which is avilable only for xp not for win 7. So when m trying to use Device Emulator Manager to connect and cradle to my application it doesn't showing any connection so what kind of setting i should have to use plz help me nd thx for trying to understand............. And surely when i get my answer i will tell u all thax again..

Also it is better to not use text-message abbreviations and such such as frnz fr hv cudnt and plz. I am not sure what some of them mean and I have no idea what vth and off frm mean.
