hello people i need help on this solution.......

As a developer for the company and is now specializing in instrument monitoring software. Your company creates a series of

applications that each monitor a different set of instruments. Unfortunately, most of these instruments still use

interfaces needs you to create a plan to ensure only one of the company's applications can access the interface at a time.
Questions
Answer the following questions for your manager:
1. How can you synchronize the applications to access the interface one at a time?
2. How will this impact the performance of the applications?

1. You can use a cross-process Mutex so that each process can lock access to the interface whilst it's using it and then release it when its done. This is achieved using the Mutex's WaitOne and ReleaseMutex methods. 2. Clearly the use of a Mutex will slow down the performance of those applications which have to wait until they can acquire a lock on the interface. There is also a slight cost in acquiring and releasing a Mutex which is about 50 times slower than a thread lock within a single process.
