Month in C#

Question

Is there any function in C# if we give the numeric value of a month it will give character as an output. For example: Input is say 1 Output is January Input is say 12 Output is December

There is in fact a way to do this directly from the .NET Framework using a method in the CultureInfo class: int monthNumber = 11; // say string monthName = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.DateTimeFormat.GetMonthName(monthNumber); Console.WriteLine(monthName); // November

The program is assuming that the birth date is being input in 'mm/dd/yyyy' format and that consequently the first two characters are the month number. You therefore need to enter a birth date in the format 01/01/1111 etc. or change it so that it can cope with single digit months or days.

Above idea is incorporated into this program to do the part 13(c) but no idea to do the last part that is 13(d). Anyone have idea please tell me. For example if you change the above line to: string monthName = CultureInfo.GetCultureInfo(fr-FR).DateTimeFormat.GetMonthName(monthNumber); and enter 11 for monthNumber then the output will be: novembre

If you give the GetMonth method a month number between 1 and 12 it will in fact return the month as a string - January to December. Try it and see.

Hi I think there is no Build in function in .Net to do this.
