Month name in LINQ

Hi I need month name in LINQ The below query is used in SQL - select CONVERT(VARCHAR(3) datename(MM getdate()) 100) to get the month name . How to convert in LINQ. I also need Week number of the month in LINQ select datediff(week convert(varchar(6) getdate() 112) + '01' getdate()) + 1 AS Week

I don't know about LINQ but you can get the month name and week number (starting from 1) as follows using DateTime members: DateTime dt = DateTime.Today; string month = dt.ToString(MMMM); int week = (dt.DayOfYear - 1)/7 + 1;

I don't think so month name function is available in LINQ. For this you need to write .net function and you can use it in LINQ Query. Lets wait others reply also.
