Hi Gaurav, mscorlib.dll is a module associated with .NET Compact Framework from Microsoft Corporation. Non-system processes like mscorlib.dll originate from software you installed on your system. The mscorlib.dll Dynamic Link Library is a shared assembly, which consists of the very important base class libraries of .Net framework. The mscorlib.dll file will be present in the path C:/ WINNT/ Microsoft.NET/ Framework/ (version number)/ mscorlib.dll. This simple application defines a type called App that has a single static, public method called Main. Inside Main are a reference System Console and the Microsoft intermediate language (MSIL) code. The code that implements these programming methods is in the mscorlib.dll file. The module is a software component that is an important part of the Windows operating systems. Then you don't have to waste time going and binding a whole bunch of different assemblies. The stuff in system.dll was basically everything that wasn't "worthy" of being included in mscorlib. This trend, however, is starting to be reversed. The CLR is making efforts to reduce the size of mscorlib. A lot of stuff was removed for Silverlight for example (to reduce download size), Common Path: C:\ WINNT\ Microsoft.NET\ Framework \ (version number)\ mscorlib.dll.
