Dropdownlist is generated if i select an item from that it is sendind null value to the controller Have you debugged the application? Can you show the view and action method code that cause the problem?

You could either use one of the ways: 1. Just use html india china 2. Using Razor syntax: @{ List items = new List (); items.Add(new SelectListItem { Text = MyId1 Value = MyId1 Selected = true }); items.Add(new SelectListItem { Text = MyId2 Value = MyId2 }); } @Html.DropDownList(dropdownname items); Hope this helps!
