div.menu : will apply CSS at all div containing class named menu. div.menu ul: will apply CSS at all div containing class named menu and child of this is ul. div.menu ul li: will apply CSS at all div containing class named menu and child of this is ul and subchild is li. div.menu ul li a div.menu ul li :hover will apply CSS at all div containing class named menu and child of this is ul and subchild is li and Selects links on mouse over for those li. div.menu ul li a : active: will apply CSS at all div containing class named menu and child of this is ul and subchild is li and all anchor a which state is active. The CSS :active state means the active state of the clicked link - the moment when you clicked on it but not released the mouse button yet fieldset.login label: will apply CSS at all label where class is login and login class should be within fieldset tag. fieldset label:inline: will apply CSS at all label where labels are within fieldset tag. not much clear about this.
