Need alternative to deprecated source

Hi Currently I am working on IE 11 and it did not have support to the below source kindly let me know the alternative way to achieve this. It works when I change compactability settings but I need the alternative one for this deprecated source. x.options[x .selectedIndex].name Thanks Sathish

Actually the code which I mentioned gives integer value on compactibility mode.. If I go with text it displays only string

Hi Actually what is your desired output from above code? If you need text of the dropdown option seleceted then you can use below script - X.options[X.selectedIndex].text
