need help regarding to communicate with circuit board

hello every one i want to connect my PC with a circuit board just to know whether circuit is on or of please guide me how it is possible using rs232 serial to USB converter..???

Hi actually what I understand is you need to power up the circuit board with USB to RS232 converter and it is very simple because the DB-9 serial connector has the VCC and GND pin so you can get the supply from there. Just choose the cable carefully that does not need the drivers. printed circuit board
