Need of SQLite database in command window

Why we make SQLite database by .db extension in command window instead of file if both have same work. What's the main difference.

Hi Pravin. But I have simply made it by sqlite3 empl command. Then I have made tables in it. When I use this name I can see all tables.

Hi Monika sqllite3 pravin.db -- this will create file for database if its not exist but use of unassigned database file will not be allowed.so use .db firsttime. and we know database name properly because in sqllite file may have any extension. Thanks Pravin.
