Need to count my row...

Question

Hello!

lblTotal.Text = dvgTest.RowCount.ToString();

With this code I wrote I can easly count all the datagrid row. But I am in need to count only blank row of my datagrid. How can I proceed.

To count the number of rows in the DGV where the early column is null or empty try this code: int count = 0; foreach (DataGridViewRow row in dvgDatas.Rows) { if (row.IsNewRow) break; object value = row.Cells[early].Value; if (value == null || Convert.IsDBNull(value) || value.ToString().Trim().Length == 0) { count++; } } lblTotal.Text = count.ToString();

If you only want to count blank rows i.e. rows where ALL colummns are null or empty then try this: int count = 0; foreach (DataGridViewRow row in dvgTest.Rows) { if (row.IsNewRow) break; bool rowIsEmpty = true; foreach (DataGridViewCell cell in row.Cells) { object value = cell.Value; if (value != null && !Convert.IsDBNull(value) && value.ToString().Trim().Length > 0) { rowIsEmpty = false; break; } } if (rowIsEmpty) count++; } lblTotal.Text = count.ToString(); Note that this code doesn't count the row at the bottom of the grid for adding new records.

In my opinion you should use ExecuteScaler method and the need a sql query Like Select Count(column_Name) from Table_Name
