I am asp.net developer. I had 2.5 years of experience, from last one year I am not doing any job just because I got married and relocate. Please give some advice to start my career again.

Based on your company you have joined and client, only you get the "Work from Home" option. Not every company/client will provide that option. All the very best for the job hunt!

Hi, there are many companies which allow you to work right from home as a freelancer or as their dedicated employee. A few of them are oDesk and Elance . But you should always find any company that would be interested in recruiting developers from their home. You can also find yourself in their category of ASP.NET web developer, to check whether they support this production or not. Good luck.

Marriage is a stop (of career) for those who don't know programming, for those there is no stop. You can write applications whenever you want to and have to. Since you're having an experience in ASP.NET, you can continue the fields that you left before marriage. If you're wanting a career, then you can try atleast for a week to develop indie applications before going back into the ASP.NET world as an employee, this would help you out in getting most out of your own knowledge of ASP.NET. Otherwise, there is no problem for you to continue the career. ASP.NET has evolved, but not changed. ASP.NET's 5th version is here, and you might be interested in knowing what has evolved. Please read this one out. HTML is same, ASP.NET is still the very same (and lovely) platform to develop web applications, for everyone. One thing you should worry about is that if you were expert in Web Pages framework, you need to leave it out now, specially the usage of SQL Server CE, Microsoft has officially said it is deprecating the technology, instead you can get a more grasp on the SQL Server itself, you can download the Express version of it. Secondly, the MVC framework is getting more and more favourite for the ASP.NET team and the developers around the world. You should check it out and master it in order to continue using (the latest standards of) ASP.NET. ASP.NET team has now merged the ASP.NET Web Pages and ASP.NET MVC (in a coming version) and thus it would be really nice of you to learn the MVC framework. Might you be interested in reading this blog post of mine to learn on MVC (if you're a beginner in this MVC framework). There are some other major changes in the IDE used to develop the applications, you should consider using Visual Studio from now on (if you were using the WebMatrix tool until now). Anyhow, welcome back to the ASP.NET community. :)

just continue with your asp.net career, that is an excellent path. However, the times have slightly changed and you should also master some JavaScript libraries like AngularJS. There is a huge demand on it.

Hii Neha, First of all congrats for your marriage. Now you just need to refresh and rejuvinate your knowledge and I believe you will recall everything fast and apply for jobs. You can better opt the companies which have Work From Home if required too. Based on the technologies mentioned in your CV, you can start reading and just be updated on the latest technologies like:- MVC, Entity Framework going through the links available.
