Here is an example Am using department list in the employee view In the model : public class Employee { [Key] public int EmployeeID { get; set; } public int DepartmentID { get; set; } public virtual Department Department { get; set; } } In the view : @Html.DropDownList(DepartmentID null htmlAttributes: new { @class = form-control }) In the controller : public ActionResult Create() { ViewBag.DepartmentID = new SelectList(db.Department DepartmentID DepartmentName); return View(); }
