.Net technical Architect

Question

I have 6 years of experience on .net. i want to become Technical Architect.Please help me what to do

Krishna, being a Technical Architect is all about experience. I am sure at your current role, you do not have enough exposure and not getting a chance to Architect solutions. What I would do is, start reading articles and blogs. Also learn more related technologies. For example, if you want to Architect a big system, you must know more than just .NET and programming. You must know Databases, some BI components, third party tools and so on. Think of being an architect is like a "Movie Director". Before you direct jump to the director role, you must work with experienced directors as an Assistant Director and learn things from them. So initially, try to be a team lead/tech lead and lead a group of developers to smaller products/modules. Then work with an Architect to learn how things are being done. And try to help him out. Read and read and "do it yourself" on your personal small projects. However, to become an Architect of a real large project, you must have experience. It's like architecting a 25-story building. You can't just become an architect by reading. You must have build before that with some senior guys and learn the process. Make sense?

Hi, Thanks for your suggestions, But I'm stuck in a situation that in my organization I'd not be able to switch to any such role where I'll be able to do more technical stuffs and gather knowledge about designing. So, I'm thinking about switching job. But as I don't have so much exposure to updated technologies I'm facing troubles to find a new job. Can you please help me suggesting how to deal with this situation??
