Question

Is it possible for a class to inherit the constructor of its base class...? Please explain me both cases.

I don't remember ever seeing an 'official' reason given for this particular design decision though you can't inherit constructors in C++ or Java either. Given that derived classes often add extra fields to those inherited from their base classes if you could inherit constructors then you might forget to initialize those extra fields. Also since every class inherits from System.Object then it would follow that every class would inherit a parameterless constructor which might not be something you'd want when designing a particular class.

No constructors are never inherited in .NET.
