Hai all what the use of New keyword rather then creating class instance in c# let me know itif some one know that.

Can I just add that it is still possible to access the inherited member using the 'base' keyword i.e. base.MyMethod() in Ehtesham's example. If you use the 'new' keyword when it is not needed (i.e. the parent class doesn't have a member of that name) or don't use it when it is needed then the compiler will issue a warning but the code will still compile and run OK.

new can be used to hide an inherited member from a base class member. public class BaseClass { public void Method() { } } public class DerivedClass : BaseClass { new public void Method() { } }
