Notes About This Update

Hi Is this functionality that I should fill Notes About This Update box when i click on Save & Finish Later button while saving the unpublished article.

I accept that we need update note when we edit the article which is published so that Editorial staff may know what is the change in this updated version. But I am wondering why we need update notes when the article is not yet published. If it is on draft it wont be available for readers as well as editorial staff for review [i assume]. Then why we need update notes? In this scenario even author does not need the update note as they know what they have written if they start editing the article after some time if update note is for the author. Still i am confused :)

This functionality is added so that we OR you should know what changes has been done in this update. Every article or other resources in this site needs update by the author Or editorial staff. So when anybody made some changes then they should mention what has been changed in that version.
