Most probably your Label object name is NULL. So you are getting exception when you are trying to assign Text Property. Check if object is not null then assign the property if(name != null) { name.Text = ds.Tables[0].Rows[0][1].ToString(); } Secondly you should not get NULL value. Hi Sandy Please check ds.Tables[0].Rows[0][1].ToString(); Dataset contains No data /values or lblname as label not in page in the above statement Please try like If( ds.Tables[0].Rows[0][1].ToString() !=) { Label name = (Label)gridtraineelist.FindControl(lblname); name.Text = ds.Tables[0].Rows[0][1].ToString(); }
