open word file on asp page

Question

hello.... i am wishing to open a Document.docx file on ASP.Net page named Default.aspx Do you have any idea how to implement it. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks

You can't do that. To open a word doc you need Microsoft word. In Web pages (ASP.NET) you can display HTML contents only. If you want to see word conents in a Webpage you probably have to convert word doc to HTML readable format or use a third part ActiveX control within your ASP.NET to view word doc.

Hi how can i convert a .docx/.xlsx file to .doc/.xls file in asp.net 2.0 I tried with OpenXml but i think the dll for that will be in .net 3.0 version. Please help. its urgent. Thanks
