nowadays i saw openings in java and php only and not in .net ..one of my friend told 54% of company is working in java and only 7% working in .net .is this true ?

Many startup companies opt php and .net rather Java so .net track give more opportunity with good competition. Many people choose .net as their career track and thus you need to police yourself better than others to get a break.
